Our November in San Francisco

November was a fun month for us. We got to head out onto the Bay twice, we got down to China Town for Thanksgiving and we were surprised by the USC band when we were down in Union Square. Work has been good for both of us and the weather has been fantastic.

Now pictures!

We went down to Hyde Street Pier again but this time we got to sail on the Alma. The Alma is a 4 mast Schooner that you can book. For a small fee you can sail The Bay for 3 and a half hours (which is half an hour more than the Gilligan's Isle crew got). Here is a shot of Donna raising the sails.

Here the sails are almost up. I was lying on the deck while Donna did all the hard work.

The last sail going up

Land Ho!!!

Here is a cool boxing game at the Arcade Museum

We got to watch the USC band play in Union Square

I love college bands!

Another shot of the band

Here is a cool looking Obama poster placing in The City

I took some night photos and caught this cyclist

Fresh fruit in China Town

We bought our Thanksgiving turkey in China Town on Thanksgiving morning

That's our turkey being cut in half. It was CHEAP! Only 10 bucks for half a turkey

This is how you do Thanksgiving Dinner in a small apartment in San Francisco

This appears to be the most dangerous foliage in The City

I liked this shot of the Powell St. Cable Car

We got to take a night tour of Alcatraz. We arrived at Sun Set

Another shot on the way in

A water tower on the shady side of The Rock

These cells might be bigger than our apartment

Cool natural light

Donna and I took the audio tour

They open up the Hospital Ward on the night tour

The Hospital Ward has creepy artifacts

and creepy lighting

Our self portrait on Alcatraz Island

Well Donna and I are off to Florida for 10 days so I will have some Disney World pictures for you next time.

BTW sorry the photos are so small. Something changed with Blogger and when I post them normal size (the size I used to) they aren't displaying properly. If anyone knows how to fix this issue let me know.

Thanks for stopping by,

Jon and Donna

Summer is over but the events keep going

Well summer is over but that's okay. There is still plenty to do. We have been up here for 2 summers now and we will need to be up here for at least 2 more to get to all of the events this great city offers. Either there are conflicting events or we are just too tired to get to them so we will have to wait until they come around again. Really there is something to do every single weekend.

We had our first 2 days of rain today and yesterday and it was a nice change. We are looking forward to the fall and winter. Hopefully it won't get too cold.

Picture time!

The Blue Angels visited us for Fleet Week

Steve Karen and Sarah visited us too

Sarah is so cute and well behaved

We went to Point Reyes (pronounced Rays up here) and saw the Light House

Donna hamming it up at the Light House (pronounced Light House up here)

The Light House not wanting to be out done by Donna hams it up too

Karen holding Sarah as she too hams it up

I wanted to take some night shots so we set up at a cool place and waited for night

I took pictures while I waited

Same place different view (WOW!)

Still waiting

The sun finally set and I got creative

And then I got creative without a tripod

Here is a different sunset from Pacific Heights. The sun sets Russian Hill's windows on Fire!

I went shooting with Thomas (a friend up here) and we ended up at a bar shooting each other

Me shooting him

Donna and I went to The Hyde St. Pier to see a Chinese Junk

This seaman was nice enough to tell us all about the Junk (The Princess Taiping) and his journey from mainland China. He said that the builder didn't think it was sturdy enough to make the journey but the crew wanted to prove him wrong.

The Junk was hand build using only tools that were available when these types of boats were built

We always see what is new on the Balcluth when we go to The Hyde St. Pier

I like this shot

We also went to The 75th anniversary of Coit Tower. The fire department raised a vintage 10 story free standing ladder

One word, Reflection!

The guy that sells bananas in China Town

We also attended the ILM Halloween party and I took some shots of friends

A very tall Short Round

A very ugly Ugly Betty (sorry Craig but I call it like I see it)

An over view of the party

My favorite costume of the night

Finally good and evil take time from their feud and have drinks together

Donna and I in the mirror in our Apartment Lobby. Donna is a sushi chef and I am a chick magnet

That's all for now but check back for more photos soon - Jon and Donna
