Spring in the medium sized diverse city

Spring has sprung and I had my camera (both of em) ready. I don't have much to to talk about so I will let my camera do the talking (along with the captions I put under the pictures).

San Francisco is one of the most lenient cites when it comes to prosecuting graffiti "artists" so even trucks end up with "art" on them. This one happens to be in China Town.

Stuffed animals through a diffused window on the way to China Town

Donna and I went to one of the most famous Sci-Fi bookstores in the US. It's called Borderlands and it is cool. I don't really read but they have 3 hairless cats that look like aliens. This ones name is Ripley. He really liked me. The others are name Ash and Sly.

San Francisco is slowly getting rid of their newspaper vending machines in exchange for cool new ones. This seems to be where the old ones go to die. Newspaper Vending Machine Cemetery doesn't sound as scary as Pet Cemetery and it wasn't.

Here is a tree frog at the Science Academy.

Here is the cool Bio-Dome at the Academy.

The Academy features the latest in aquarium technology. You can walk through the aquarium tunnel.

Who says Photography is easy? I know it's not. It takes strong upper body strength. Sadly this kid was more impressed with my lens than his moms.

All the effort of holding Donna up in the cherry blossom tree with one arm really paid off I think.

The Sun Dial says it's Flower Time!

I told you Spring had sprung and it's springing all over the place in Golden Gate Park.

The Game Developers Conference comes to San Francisco once a year. All my friends from So-Cal come up to see me (and go to the conference). This is my friend Lea.

We hosted a big party at GDC. This is Matt. I work with him. The light makes his hair look purple but it's really more of a blueish color.

Cecil often gets the DJ gigs when it's a LucasArts party.

Well thats it for now but I have more pictures queued up. Check back soon.

Hobbies

See I told you I would put up another soon.

Through the years I have had many hobbies. Some of those hobbies are still going strong and some are on the back burner. The hobbies that are taking up most of my attention right now are Poker, World of Warcraft and Photography. Donna has gotten into knitting the past few years and she has improved greatly over the years. I wish I could say the same or my poker.

This post one of my hobbies lead me to the Haight to take pictures and one of Donna's hobbies led us to a Knitting convention.

Aaardvark's is a fairly famous used clothing store in The Haight

Check out this hip hair place. I thought it looked like a place the gang from Clockwork Orange would go to to have milk and get a haircut.

I found a mirror so I took a picture.

I was happy to accompany Donna to her knitting Expo. I will go anywhere if I can take pictures and hang out with my cool wife. I had to settle for just hanging out with my cool wife on this trip after I saw THE SIGN.

I did take this one just outside the expo. I titled it Ladies Leaving with Lotsa Loot.

Here is my lady with her loot. We picked up yarn, a yarn baller and a pair of glass circular knitting needles that she loves.

Not sure where I took this but it doesn't fit into any of my coming posts so I put it here.

This is a short one but I have more coming.

It's been a while

The bad news is that it is April and this is only the 2nd post. The good news is that I have quite a few photos queued up so I will be doing 3 posts in somewhat rapid succession.

Things are going great in San Francisco. Work is chugging along for both of us and the weather is really nice every few weekends. Spring is like that here. It's either fairly cold and rainy or 75 and fantastic.

I liked this one because all the windows are lit differently.

Here is Tom, Larry and I on a log at Fort Funston (I know I thought it was a joke at first too). Fort Fuston is pretty much Doggy Disneyland.

Donna at a picnic area on Mt. Tamalpais

We hadn't BBQed since Christmas 2007 so we found a nice place on Mt. Tam and did it up right. That's our lovely Lucas Picnic Basket set up we all got for our Christmas gift this year.

One weekend we went to the dog show at Cow Palace. I wanted to borrow hair clippers and help with poor guy out.

I tried to get the attention of these Rottweilers but they were looking at something else.

Lucas had it's yearly Company Meeting and then had a cool party. They had all of The Vader Project helmets on display so I took a few shots of my favorites.

Cool!

Neat!

That's it for now but I have a few more posts lined up. Check back soon.

Thanks for visiting,

Jon and Donna
