On this day Sang played with his go-bot (not really a go-bot but he got miffed when we called them that so we did) and I took a good shot. It's one of my favorite portraits.

One A Day - On This Day in 2006

Orange CA Inside our scanner

On this day in 2006 I felt the need to scan as many of my p0ker chips as I could. I take a poker chip from each casino I play at. It turns a fun hobby into an even more fun hobby. I have chips from 5 different states and many many different casinos. The colors didn't turn out very well in this but I didn't think that I would be posting it on the interwebs for the world to see at the time I did it.

On this day the "Gold Fish Cracker Prop Bet" went off without a hitch. It was an eating contest that seemed to be harder than you think it would be. Gold Fish Crackers don't go down very quickly without a liquid which was not allowed.

On this day in 2008 the 22 Filmore had trouble rounding the corner and took out a light pole. I didn't see it happen but I was able to get a shot of it from the back of my bus as we pulled away pointing and laughing (not really).

On this day I got served and documented the moment. I think someone had a funny streak in them when they programmed this cash register. This was right around the time that this movie was still on people's minds. Thankfully everyone has forgotten about this movie until now. Sorry everyone.....

Look what I saw today!

San Francisco CA My Walk To Work

Today was a bright and sunny day in San Francisco. Even bright sunny spring days can be cold in The City but that's mostly because I am used to Southern California and that's not what this post is about.

As I was walking I noticed the shadows were especially defined due to the clear sky so I decided to focus my camera on them. Usually shadows aren't the main subject of photos but this post is going to change that. On with the photos!

One of the guys at work described the fire hydrant chain as looking like a punk rocker's chain. I though this was a cool concept and it does look like the hydrant is wearing heavy earrings in the shadow.

A very busy photo with many shaddows

I liked the color of the building along with the distorted shadow

This shadow looks like Mother Natures graffiti

I liked this Money Tree

Harsh shadows up above and very soft shadows leading to the 1570

I don't recall what the "anti-shadows" were from but I thought they looked cool cutting through the shadow of the stop sign. Kind of like skid marks.

I take a lot of pictures of the fire and police call boxes but only one so far of just their shadow.

Shadows snaking up steps

This shadow makes it look like you can see the sign being obscured

Tons of texture and shadows

More color along with shadow

What's white and red and shadow all over?

These shadows defy the grid created by all of the other straight lines

Who is that shadowy figure on the steps?

It's me all bundled up

More shadowy goodness

Shadow with bent light creating a prism effect

I pulled back on this one and got a big shadow with it's caster in the foreground

Shadow on a corner

More of those anti-shadows. Looks like 111 to m or 777.

This is the shadowy walk up to my office building.

That's it for now. I hope you enjoyed the shots and thoughts. If not at least know that it made my walk to work that much more fun.

One A Day - On This Day in 2008

San Francisco CA Fisherman's Warf area

On this day in 2008 I felt like mixing with the tourists. Maybe it was the Disney Cast member still in me trying to get out or maybe it was just temporary insanity that caused me to go down to Fisherman's Warf and Pier 39. Whatever it was, I took a few pictures before the urge to be with tourists passed. I liked this one. It basically says, "we sell so much of this crap that we can't even organize it." Just throw it in the window and watch it fly off the shelves.

One A Day - On This Day in 2007

Orange CA Our Soon to be rental house

On this day in 2007 we continued to pack up the house and video game room for the big move. We had to cut our stuff down and could only take about 1/5th of it. We sold about 1/4 of our stuff (big stuff that took up a lot of space) and put the rest in storage. It is patiently awaiting our trip back to Southern California sometime in the future.

San Francisco CA Harris' Steak House

On this day in 2009 Donna and I wanted to go to a
fancy meal. We went to Harris' Steak House (our 2nd favorite steak place in The City). They have very good aged steaks and great Manhattan cocktails. They also have great desserts as you can see here.

One A Day - On This Day in 2007

Orange CA Our House

On this day in 2007 we had a going away party with our "dog" friends. We had a nice BBQ and then set the camera on a stack of boxes and took this photo that doesn't have very good composition. It was a nice day and we miss our "dog" friends.
