Look what I saw today!

San Francisco CA My Walk To Work

Today was a bright and sunny day in San Francisco. Even bright sunny spring days can be cold in The City but that's mostly because I am used to Southern California and that's not what this post is about.

As I was walking I noticed the shadows were especially defined due to the clear sky so I decided to focus my camera on them. Usually shadows aren't the main subject of photos but this post is going to change that. On with the photos!

One of the guys at work described the fire hydrant chain as looking like a punk rocker's chain. I though this was a cool concept and it does look like the hydrant is wearing heavy earrings in the shadow.

A very busy photo with many shaddows

I liked the color of the building along with the distorted shadow

This shadow looks like Mother Natures graffiti

I liked this Money Tree

Harsh shadows up above and very soft shadows leading to the 1570

I don't recall what the "anti-shadows" were from but I thought they looked cool cutting through the shadow of the stop sign. Kind of like skid marks.

I take a lot of pictures of the fire and police call boxes but only one so far of just their shadow.

Shadows snaking up steps

This shadow makes it look like you can see the sign being obscured

Tons of texture and shadows

More color along with shadow

What's white and red and shadow all over?

These shadows defy the grid created by all of the other straight lines

Who is that shadowy figure on the steps?

It's me all bundled up

More shadowy goodness

Shadow with bent light creating a prism effect

I pulled back on this one and got a big shadow with it's caster in the foreground

Shadow on a corner

More of those anti-shadows. Looks like 111 to m or 777.

This is the shadowy walk up to my office building.

That's it for now. I hope you enjoyed the shots and thoughts. If not at least know that it made my walk to work that much more fun.

Thanks! I'm not sure which one I like best. I think the Money Tree....
