Donna and I went to Nebraska to the Lindgren 2009 family reunion. I am a big fan of traveling and when I can take pictures it's even better. My only thoughts about Nebraska before this trip were created when I drove through the western portion as a junior high school student. Flat and boring were what came to mind. I had forgotten that anything that had sitting involved in Jr. High was considered boring. After visiting I now know that Nebraska is a very nice place to visit in the summer.
We arrived at the Airport in Omaha and I found this great landmark right away. As we were taking this picture I knew it would be the photo that kicked off this blog post.
We stopped in downtown Omaha and had lunch at a place right on the Missouri River. The red umbrellas covering the picnic tables got my attention.
We made the drive to Laurel NE and made it just in time to meet with family at one of the local churches. I was drawn to some of the lighting fixtures.
Andrea was not camera shy at all. I think I ended up with about 4 gigs of photos of her alone. She was always up to something cute.
We kicked off the family reunion right. They had about an hours worth of amazingly dangerouse fireworks. At dusk the kids started off with sparklers which I found photogenic.
No one was hurt (very much).More sparkler action.
Paul had a Mickey Mouse Lightsaber. I found this intersting because the 2 large companies I have worked for are The Walt Disney Co. and LucasFilm Ltd.
I am often trying to take pictures that I think would make a good desktop image. Here is one that I had in mind.
The farm house is very old and there is plenty of room to keep things around. The National Geographic collection went back to the early 1900s.That's it for now. I still have quite a few more Nebraska photos so I will get more up shortly.
