Busy Times

We were happy to have Jenna, Josh and Eric out on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. We got to show people our favorite things to do finally. I think we tired them out but we had fun.

We were also able to attend the LucasFilm Family Holiday party. It was loads of fun. The theme was Hollywood, Bollywood, Dollywood. They rented out an old building with 3 floors. The top floor was Bollywood with all kinds of Indian food and a Bollywood style dance production. The middle floor was Hollywood with a band and fancy Hollywood food including a Mashed Potato Bar where you got your potatoes in a martini glass. The bottom floor was Dollywood with BBQ, a country band, a bourbon tasting bar and a mechanical bull. It was really fun.

We have been pushing hard at work over the last few weeks but happily we hit a crucial milestone on Friday. Because we hit this milestone Donna and I were able to enjoy the weekend (along with 2 nice holiday parties). I have one more week of work this week and then I have about 12 days off heading into the new year. That will be nice. I will try to put up more pictures over that time. I hope to rent an SLR (you know to try it out) over that week and head out and take a few pictures. We will see. Until then enjoy these shots.

Halloween, Oktoberfest and other fun stuff

Things are going well. Donna got a job with the California Pacific Medical Center. She is getting settled in there. From her stories it seems that everyone is nice and the atmosphere is pretty laid back. She is happy to be working and we are happing to be saving for our retirement again.

Work is busy for me. We are in full on crunch and here is a street sign to prove it. :)

Even with the schedule we are finding time to do things. Here is a small list of the things we did in October and early November;
Fleet Week (military ships come into the bay and there are air shows and BBQs), Big Sandy and his Flyright Boys (a rockabilly swing band), The ILM Halloween Party (lots of crazy costumes), Oktoberfest (a crazy hanger full of people celebrating October some celebrated way too much but it was fun to watch), back to the comedy club to see our friend Jeff perform again (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSBjbJijWqM), and many fine meals and other things.

And here are some pictures I would like to share. Oh I got my new pocket camera (Canon PowerShot SD950 IS) and Donna has a pocket camera too so maybe we will post some of her pictures soon.

We'll start this one off with a cool sign.
and a cool candid
and a cool bird
A little Gothic on the side

A little swing at the Big Sandy Concert
The opening band
The blessing of the pets
A pet waiting to be blessed

Working hard but there's still time for play

It's been a while so here is an update.

I have been working pretty long hours but Donna and I have found time to do fun things too.

I took this on a walk through China Town

Donna and I went to a BBQ hosted by Olaf (one of our Rendering Engineers)

Donna Knit Larry a sweater

We went to the Harvest Moon Festival in China Town and I stealthed me these photos

Ft. Point is right under the Big Orange Bridge

I highly recommend Ft. Point as a free place to visit. It's really cool!

Donna and I got to go to Giants game and they even won

It's nice having a friend with season tickets

I played on a Softball team. Our team was Let The Wookiees Win
We took 3rd place

My camera is pretty much broken right now so I am taking less pictures. We ordered Donna a camera and that will be coming shortly and my new camera is so new it's not even available yet. I'll let you know when I get it.

Take care,

Jon and Donna

I love signs

Well if you know me you know I love signs. Neon, old, and odd I like them all. Here are some of my favorites so far.

I just liked this. It's not 2 famous streets but it's cool none the less.

Many adjectives to describe these slices

Clean enough to eat off of?

A funny protest. Hey we live in San Francisco

The sign and the trash can make this funny to me

If you don't know why this is funny read all of the signs

This is cool because it's not too far from our apartment

Same with this one

I just liked this

This one struck me funny

Cool neon

That's it for now but I am sure I will be posting more in the near future.

Keep in touch,

Jon and Donna
